Hall of FaithEach year, Illowa FCA honors a huddle coach in our community for their outstanding service and leadership with the Hall of Faith Award.

Recipients will be men or women volunteers whose life, work, and commitment exemplifies that of a "servant leader;" who have been faithful in the ministry of the Lord and a dedicated volunteer with FCA for many years. This award is presented at the Night of Champions aka Home Team Banquet.

2011 Hall of Faith Inductee

Ed MerrittI am very humbled to receive this cherished award from Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Next to my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and my dedication to my family, my FCA involvement has been a most important and rewarding part of my life. Over the years, our FCA Huddle reached the lives of hundreds of students. Through God’s grace, the challenges presented in our Huddles to live up to Christian ideals, were, hopefully, well received. More than once, a student wrote or came back to share that this experience had molded their lives and made a big difference in the decisions that impacted the lives of their own children and, in some cases, the lives of their students and athletes. What more could one ask than to be blessed with the realization that their willingness to say ‘yes’ to the commitment of being a FCA leader, changed a life and lived on in life choices of others? As I look back, I know that I received as much or more than the students from this endeavor. ~Ed Merritt
